Project Overview

The Shanghai Fengxian New City development is a large-scale urban project combining public, commercial, and civic functions.
As part of the architectural envelope, UHPC (Ultra-High Performance Concrete) decorative panels were selected to achieve long-term durability, precise surface control, and a contemporary visual identity.

ZRETE participated in the supply and installation support of white UHPC wavy façade panels and exterior wall panels, applied across multiple buildings within the development.

UHPC Wavy Façade System

The façade design features custom white UHPC panels with a continuous wavy texture, creating depth, rhythm, and shadow across the building elevations.
The wave pattern is integrally formed in the UHPC panels, ensuring consistency and durability without reliance on secondary coatings or surface treatments.

Key characteristics of the system include:

• Precise reproduction of complex surface geometry

• Uniform color and texture across large façade areas

• Clean panel joints and controlled installation tolerances

Material Performance

UHPC panels were selected for their suitability in urban exterior environments:

• High compressive and flexural strength for thin-section panels

• Low permeability and strong resistance to weathering

• Excellent dimensional stability and long service life

• Reduced maintenance compared with traditional cladding materials

Architectural Value

By combining UHPC wavy decorative panels with flat exterior wall panels, the project achieves a balance between architectural expression and structural practicality.
The result is a façade system that is visually distinctive, technically robust, and well suited to the long-term requirements of a modern urban district.
